The Flourishing Life of the Leader Who Makes God the Top Priority

    Get PDF
The Thesis Project that is undertaken in Richmond, Virginia, is addressing the issues in the leaders of churches’ lack of understanding, when it comes to prioritizing their relationship with God. The purpose of the thesis is to train the men and women in leadership, so that they seek and reach forth onto that highest priority of relationship with Christ. The interventions that are designed to help in the development of the spiritually healthy leaders include the practices that the Lord Jesus Christ mentions in His speech, the Sermon on the Mount. Through mentoring and the participants’ initiative in fasting, prayer, and giving, the benefits of the spiritually developed leader may become the example, that is reproducible in the discipleship of the four small churches in Richmond. The success of this project may shape the attitudes of leaders at home in Richmond, and abroad, beyond the borders of Virginia, to the extent that the contributions may provide new ways of facing the decline in the exponential increase among the flourishing disciples, or the spiritually mature followers, of Jesus Christ

The impact of intermediate means of transports (IMTs) on agricultural production and marketing in coastal Ghana: evidence from a pilot IMT action research project

Transport is a critical input for agricultural production and marketing. The past three decades have been challenging for the development of efficient transport systems in developing countries. Huge funds and efforts have been devoted to the conventional transport sector but this has clearly had limited impact on accessibility or mobility. Most farmers continue to depend on walking and headloading to move their produce between farms and markets. This hinders the development of agriculture and efficient marketing systems. Intermediate Means of Transports (IMTs) are now seen by many development agencies as a viable option that could induce greater mobility and improve accessibility and help improve agriculture, marketing and other livelihood means in developing areas. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of IMTs on agricultural production and marketing in mral areas, focussing on Gomoa District in the Central Region of Ghana. The study examines the impact of a small action research project which involved introduction of selected IMTs in off-road villages. It examines the influence of IMTs over a twenty month period on farm size, location, distribution, productivity patterns, labour and gender issues, utilising a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. The study observed some IMT influence on labour productivity, labour availability and mobility, farm location and distribution, cropping pattern, marketed output and access to markets, though a relatively longer period of time is required in order to fully assess their impact than was available to this study. The impact of IMT on farming was influenced by social relationships, physical characteristics of the villages, including physical access conditions, and the economic and financial conditions of farmers. The influence of IMTs on crop marketing was larger in areas where routes to markets are poor, distance to markets are short, conventional transport service are poor and load volumes are large

This study aimed to access the prospective secretary in the modern business world using Koforidua polytechnic the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly as a case study. This study aimed at filling the gap by gathering relevant data on the roles the prospective secretaries’ plays in today’s modern world. Primary data were obtained through the administering of questionnaires to 55 respondents working in Koforidua polytechnic. Data collected were coded and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) analytical tool and subject to both descriptive and inferential statistics. Multiple regression analysis was carried out to see if any, relationship existed between the dependent variables, modern business world (MBW) and the independent variables; Administrative Assistant (AA), Administrative Secretary (AS), Executive Secretary (ES), Secretary (S), and Secretary-Receptionist (SR). The findings of the study showed that some of the respondents who took part in the survey were not actual secretaries but their daily activities involved secretarial and clerical duties.   It is worthy to note, that 70% of workload by superiors are shifted to the secretaries to perform. This means that a modern secretary has to be well equipped in all fields in the discharge of its duties. The use of linear programming to solve the problem of over-allocation and under-allocation of the scarce classroom space was considered with particular reference to the Premier Nurse’s Training College, Kumasi. Data was collected from the College on the classroom facilities and the number of students per programme. A linear programming model was formulated based on the data collected to maximize the usage of the limited classroom space. POM-QM for Windows 4 (Software for Quantitative Methods, Production and Operation Management by Howard J. Weiss) was used based on the simplex algorithm to obtain optimal solution.Analysis of the results showed that six (50%) of the twelve classrooms could be used to create a maximum classroom space of six hundred and forty.  It was also observed that the management could use two hundred and eighty (280) surplus spaces to increase its student’s intake from three hundred and sixty (360) to six hundred and forty (640) students, an increase of about 77.78% with only 50% of the total number of classrooms. Again management could cut down the number of classrooms used from twelve to six and reduce the cost of maintaining the classrooms by 50% and still have as many as six extra classrooms for other equally important purposes, hence maximize its profit margin. The study sought to identify the impact of Automated Teller Machine System (ATM) on customer satisfaction in the banking industry, the case of HFC Bank, Koforidua branch. The study adopted both qualitative (case study) and quantitative methods respectively. HFC bank was selected to gather data, which was acquired from answers obtained from our administered questionnaires. The population of the survey constituted the management and non-management staff and customers of HFC Bank. The data gathered for the study were analyzed using correlation. Results of the study showed that there are high positive correlation between the constructs of Automated Teller Machine System (ATM), customer satisfaction and banking activities. The findings revealed that a higher percentage of the respondents admit that, the ATM has solved the problem of long queues at the banking hall whiles a few percentage of respondents   disagreed. They argued that the maximum amount one can withdraw with the card is not enough. Due to this, the need for joining long queues has emerged again. In conclusion, the researchers confirmed that the introduction of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has increased the level of customer satisfaction, although there are some problems which need to be addressed by management. Recommendations were given that, management should increase the maximum amount one can withdraw with the card from GH₵ 500 to GH₵ 1,000. Again, management should educate their customers on the use of the ATM in order to avoid difficulties in the usage of the ATM. Finally, another ATMs can be installed, to ease congestion at the banking hall, thus increase the level of customer satisfaction. Keywords: Automated Teller Machine (ATM), customer satisfaction and banking activities and Ghanaian banking industry.
